Successful start to the Anqa roadshow: IT system houses and MSSPs discuss IT security in Cologne. Personal, practical and collaborative – with this approach, Anqa IT Security launched its Germany-wide roadshow ‘360° IT Security for System Houses’ last Friday at ‘Studio five-Oh’ in Cologne’s Südstadt district. Around 30 participants – including owners and employees of IT system houses as well as cooperation partners – came together to discuss current challenges and concrete solutions in the field of IT security.
IT security workshop in Cologne
After a barista workshop with breakfast, the participants delved straight into the topic. ‘It was important for us to find out which aspects of IT security were of concern to the participants,’ says Dariush Ansari, Managing Director of Anqa IT-Security GmbH. “So we started with a survey, which revealed the following top topics: Does it make sense to put together managed security services packages? How can effective IT security consulting be achieved? What legal requirements do system houses face – and how can they effectively implement awareness measures?”
Clear consensus: Managed security services are in demand
An additional live poll revealed a clear picture of the mood:
100% of those present already use monitoring solutions
90% talk to their customers about emergency management
80% integrate MDR solutions into their offerings
62% are looking for specific ideas on how to get their team and customers excited about managed security services
Matthias Winter, Head of Pre-Sales at Anqa IT Security, led the first workshop and provided practical ideas and arguments for sales talks.
Participants found the open and active exchange of personal recipes for success among all attendees particularly valuable. Insights into future legal requirements such as the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) and the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), as well as contributions from Anqa’s cooperation partners, rounded off the workshop. Enginsight highlighted the advantages of managed vulnerability scans and pentesting. Solution partner WithSecure explained its MDR services, including Endpoint Protection. And servereye presented modern managed monitoring solutions for everyday system house operations.
First-hand best practice & awareness
After a light lunch, Karsten Agten, former managing director of IT-on.net, took to the stage. In his presentation, he provided personal insights into the successful development of the system house. The technical part of the event was concluded by project managers Nils Kreidler and Dariush Ansari, who demonstrated how system houses can cover the area of security awareness for their end customers without any additional personnel costs.
‘A really successful day with great discussions, new ideas and genuine exchange on an equal footing,’ reports participant Christoph Stauffer from IT system house Stauffer Medien & IT GmbH. ‘This is exactly the kind of format we need to make IT security more tangible and raise awareness of the issue among companies.’
The day was rounded off with a table football tournament and a cosy barbecue and chill-out session. The roadshow continues – with answers to individual questions, new ideas and a clear message: IT security works best through dialogue. The next workshops will take place on 28 May in Hanover, on 30 September in Berlin and on 19 November in Stuttgart.
